5. Rules Introduction of Preliminary and Final Contests
5.1. Contestants
The total number of both domestic and foreign contestants is about 16 people or above. A prior consideration of participation qualification is given to the members of the similar student organizations. Contestants from foreign countries, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan will be invited by School of Information Management, International Office of Wuhan University and Office for Macao & Taiwan Affair, At least 10 foreign students currently studying in Chinese universities will be invited by College of Foreign Students Education, And at least 6 Chinese college students (including those of Wuhan university) will be invited by School of Information Management. The final list of contestants will be decided by School of Information Management
There is no specific requirement for the professional fields of the contestants, the competition aims mainly at advocating and examining the basic information literacy, and at the popularization of the ability to apply computer networks. No requirement for the academic innovativeness or profession of the contestants.
5.2. Rules Introduction

5.2.1 Paper-based Contest (8:30 – 10:00 a.m.)
Printed& Written Language: English
About the Questions: Information literacy in daily life
Section: Multiple-choice questions, Gap filling, Essay questions
Time Limit: within 90 minutes
Contestants should get their materials by searching the Internet. The full mark is 100 and the paper result will be converted to a scaled score of 0 to 20. The final score will be calculated according to the weight of this paper-based contest (50%) and the presentation contest in the afternoon (50%). See the examples on the official website.
5.2.2 Preparation of the Presentation Contest (10:30--11:30A.M.)
1) Each contestant should make a self-introduction video clip(less than one minute; including nation, school, personal experience, etc.) in advance. Before the presentation contest, those clips will be shown within 20 minutes,
2) Grouping. 14 contestants (TBD) will be divided into two groups, 7 for each group (including 4 overseas contestants and 3 Chinese). The same topic will be offered to both teams. According to the topic, each group should make a 10-minute presentation (PowerPoint is available) during the team presentation section in the afternoon. 
5.2.3Presentation Contest (14:30 – 16:00 p.m.)
1) Team Presentation Section (14:30 – 15:15 p.m.)
Each group has 10 minutes to do the presentation. Software like PowerPoint can be used. After the presentation, questions can be asked by the rival group and simple communication between groups is allowed.  The Q&A part will last less than 5 minutes. Comments and scores will then be given by the judges. The full mark is 10.
2) Individual Presentation Section (15:15 – 16:30 p.m.)
On the basis of the topic offered before this section, an English presentation with PowerPoint must be given in 3 minutes. It must contains life change experiences led by contemporary IT and the outlook for the IT applications in future life, etc. Questions will then be asked by the judges and comments and scores will be given. The full mark is 20. The result will be delivered to the marker. (See the examples on the official website)
5.2.4. Prizes
According to the performance of contestants’ accuracy and time controlling, we will select a champion, three second prize winners, six third prize winners and several excellent prize winners.

Detailed information about this contest will be pasted at official website of the exchange camp http://society.whu.edu.cn/iecp/english/index.php before the end of March 2012.
